Casino Esplanade Spielbank

Casino Esplanade continues the long tradition of luxury and elegance of its umbrella company, Spielbank Hamburg Jahr + Achterfeld KG, which leads the amusement industry in the second largest city in Germany, Hamburg. The casino spans 22,000 square feet on two floors, straddling along the picturesque urban promenade of Jungfernstieg.

A statutory age of 18 years old is required in order to be permitted into the casino and a valid ID, such as a passport, must be provided upon entry. The casino is strict on this policy and driver’s license will not be accepted. Admission is €2.00 per head. Every guest will also be required to register at the reception. After which, they will be given tickets in order to access the game rooms.

As for the dress code, casual wear will suffice for the slot machine area on the ground floor. For the classic games on the first floor, formal wear is required. Men have to wear jackets although ties are not compulsory. If one forgets to bring one, jackets are available for rent at the cloakroom for only €5.00. As for the ladies, a formal dress or a blazer would suffice.

Casino Esplanade’s ground floor welcomes its guests with unlimited entertainment with its 136 slot machines that are loaded with a variety of games including Electronic Roulette and Video Poker, the most famous of which are Thunder Cash and Magic Joker Jackpot, which minimum bets vary from €0.01 to €0.50. The slot machine area is open daily from 12:00 PM to 4:00 AM.

Tables for classic cash games fill the first floor of the casino. They have 1 table for French Roulette, which minimum stake is at €2.00. For a similar game that is slightly faster, the casino has 8 tables to American Roulette wherein betting starts at €2.00 as well. 4 tables are also available for Poker, which stakes are at €200.00. These tables follow the regular schedule of the floor’s opening, which is daily at 3:00 PM.

Another 4 tables are reserved for Blackjack, which open at 4:30 PM daily. One may take seats at these tables while waiting for the Texas Hold ‘Em to open at 7:00 PM. The tables stakes are at €200 every day except on Monday when it is raised to €250.00. Mondays are scheduled for Ultimate Texas Hold ‘Em games at the Casino Esplanade, there are no limits on the stakes while the blinds are at €5.00. On regular days, the blinds are set to €2.00 and €4.00 and there is a limit of €1000.00 on the maximum stakes. Omaha Hold ‘Em games are held on Wednesdays following the regular amount on table stakes and blinds.

The Casino Esplanade only accepts reservations for their Big Cash games, Texas Hold ‘Em and Omaha Hold ‘EM, 14 days in advance. Reservations can be made through the phone or personally at the reception desks daily at 3:00 PM. Reservations must be claimed at the beginning of every scheduled game. 

Casino Esplanade does not come short on relaxation as it houses a lounge area wherein On the Rocks Bar is located. Guests can chill at the full-service bar inside the gaming area or on one of the lounge chairs on the terrace. The bar offers a wide selection of light meals, snacks, and delightful beverages.

Barkarte is another in-house bar at the Casino Esplanade which offers a wide variety of alcoholic beverages and cocktails.
