Homburg Casino Guide

homburg casino guide

Homburg is the third-largest town and administrative seat in the state of Saarland, Germany with a population of 41,811 residents. The medical department of the state university is situated in the town. The town is home to the famous Karlsberg beer brewery. Major employers include Michelin and Robert Bosch GmbH.

Homburg houses one well-established casino, the Saarland Casino Homburg (Spielbank) in Saarbrucker Strasse. Within 5,500 sq. ft. of gambling space, the casino houses 54 gaming machines. Jackpots at Casino Homburg such as Poker Jackpot and Bingo Jackpot are a popular go-to machines. But aside from these, they also offer crowd favorites such as Slots, Electronic Roulette, Electronic Poker, Electronic Bingo, Video Poker, and Electronic Blackjack. Guests must be at least 18 years old in order to be granted permission to enter the premises.

Besides the hustle and bustle inside the casino, Homburg has a number of charming places in its sleeves. The 12th-century Hohenburg Fortress, perhaps, is where the name of the town is derived. The fortress sits like a crown atop the Schlossberg and it’s ruins have been slightly restored. Close to it, visitors can find the ruins of the Karlsberg Castle which is restored and refined by the Karlsberg brewery. Places to check out include Schlossberg Cave, Ombachsee, and Schwarzenacker Roman Museum.

Shopping in Homburg involves its picturesque market square surrounded by fine examples of 17th century buildings. It’s a wonderful starting point from which to explore the town on foot. Moreover, the Homburg Flea and Antiques is also in the line which is where the Christmas Market takes place. In terms of dining and drinking, there are wine bars aplenty in Homburg. If looking for a beer to drink with  meals, head to the Homburger Brauhaus and try the dish of the day.
